On its 125th anniversary, the day commemorates the achievements and contributions of these brave individuals, while also honoring the legacy of mining communities. This milestone is a reminder of the importance of safety, innovation, and sustainability in mining practices, ensuring that future generations continue to benefit from the resources that miners work tirelessly to provide.
Keynote speaker: Cecil Roberts, President of the United Mine Workers of America. Performance by Mother Jones re-enactor Loretta Williams and General Bradley re-enactor Dale Hawkins, Music by Wildflower Conspiracy and Casting Runes. Miners lunch provided to guests at the cemetery.
