Saturday, May 3, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Luther Place Memorial Church, 1226 Vermont Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. 20005
The DC Labor Chorus spring concert is an annual evening of inspirational labor and social justice music. The concert is held in honor of International Workers Day or May Day as it has long been known. This year, the concert will feature the DC Labor Chorus along with two special guests: Veteran of the international folk circuit, award-winning songwriter and celebrated vocalist Joe Jencks, and DC’s very own women’s social-justice a cappella group, SongRise DC. It’s going to be an electrifying event!
Tickets and Registration
The DC Labor Chorus spring concert is the only fundraising event the chorus holds each year, as a special event to cover the costs of running this all-volunteer group of labor rights and justice singers. Funds raised from the concert will help the group continue to be “the musical arm of the resistance” bringing social change music to the DC Metro area and beyond.

Elise Bryant, Director
Steve Jones, Music Director
Founded and directed by longtime cultural worker Elise Bryant, the DC Labor Chorus is a musical ensemble that sings at concerts, rallies, demonstrations, and picket lines. While some members are current or former union employees, every member actively supports the principle of liberty and justice for all. Members are of various ages, races, and faith traditions. Some are professional musicians, while others simply enjoy blending their voices to make a joyous sound that comes from songs of the civil rights and labor movements. We sing for solidarity. We sing for peace. We sing for jobs. We sing for justice. We sing for joy!
We rehearse on Mondays between 7 and 9 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome. We invite you to sit in on a rehearsal or two to see if you would like to join us.
