The director’s initial plan to document his father’s harassment and firing by the U.S. Post Office evolved into this moving historical account of privatization policies that have turned the once venerated Post Office into an underfunded bureaucratic agency that led to its workers “going postal,” its loss of the public’s faith, and the destruction of its stately buildings to make way for bland but rational structures.  This is how filmmaking can effectively link the personalization of workplace troubles to federal-level economic and political policies.
