John Hanson returns to the East Side with a story that began at his father's knee - and, fittingly, took shape within these very walls. Join us at the East Side Freedom Library on Saturday, September 19, from 2 to 4 PM for the launch of Fight & Win: Minneapolis Teamsters Strike, 1934, Hanson's stirring account of how, in the depths of the Depression, a Teamsters Local of 175 grew into a force of 5,000 that broke the business community's grip and made Minneapolis a union town. He'll be introduced by his mentor, Peter Rachleff - Macalester historian and ESFL co-founder - a full-circle homecoming for a book written in part here at the Library.
