When Glasgow residents on Kenmure Street learn that immigration authorities are deporting two of their neighbors on the morning of a Muslim holy day, they drop their daily routines and hit the street. In the course of hours, and shaped by the city’s heritage of working-class resistance and civil disobedience, thousands join in to create a spontaneous and truly inspiring community solidarity for immigrant rights. It is brilliantly composed of interviews with residents, on-the-ground video coverage and dramatized scenes including Emma Thompson voicing a main figure in the protest. It won the Sundance World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Civil Resistance. Dir. Felipe Buston Sierra, UK 2025, 95 min
