Join the Michigan Labor History Society on May Day as we continue the revival of Eugene V. Debs Memorial Kazoo Night! Taking place the evening of Friday, May 1, 2026, at Comerica Park during the Tigers vs. Rangers baseball game, we will celebrate the labor movement and the legacy of hero to the workingman, Eugene V. Debs.
To participate and get a kazoo, purchase your tickets here.
For the just the third time in a quarter century, you have the chance to participate in one of Detroit’s proudest/silliest exercises in labor solidarity! This event originally ran from the early eighties to 1999, named after Debs — the labor activist, socialist, and 5-time presidential candidate. The past two year’s events have been grand slams, with 70+ people joining the kazoo orchestras in perfect disharmony. As an added bonus, we are excited to host the event on International Workers’ Day, following a special May Day event hosted by other labor organizations earlier that day.
Please share this event with your friends, and anyone you know who loves the Tigers and fights for a brighter future.
