On Sunday morning, UNITE HERE Local 26 announced that Boston concession workers at Fenway Park and MGM Music Hall at Fenway have voted by 95% to authorize a strike amid negotiations with their employer, Aramark.
The union represents essential venue staff who work as cooks, beer sellers, cashiers, souvenir vendors and in other roles. Members have been working under an expired contract since December 2024, and Aramark has still yet to offer fair proposals on wages, scheduling and technology guardrails.
“Boston is a union town, and it’s time to bring all Fenway workers’ wages up to standard,” said Carlos Aramayo, president of Local 26, in a statement. “Local 26 hotel workers fought for and won $10 an hour raises last year, and Local 26 university dining workers will be making a minimum of $30 an hour by 2028. There’s no reason for Fenway workers to be left behind. They deserve raises and respect!”
